When Helping The Poor, Leave The Camera At Home

"During the COVID-19 outbreak in India, millions of daily wage workers were returning to their hometowns on foot. With food enough for just two days, almost no money and a few clothes, these workers had to walk more than 1,500 kilometres. Around 40,000 workers lost their lives while they were migrating. I got a chance to interact with a group of 15 daily wage workers during this time. They had all lost hope and were starving. We gave them some food and money but it wouldn't suffice them for the entire journey. It was beyond my imagination how many such workers were suffering. It made me realize that we should value of food and never waste it. If we can help, then we should. It was a life-changing event, which inspired me to start Filled Tummy.
